Argical M1000 is an off-white pozzolan with moderate strength properties. The neutral colour of this Metakaolin Pozzolan, helps to retain the colour of the mortar that is is added to.
Pozzolans are materials that contain high silica and/or alumina content. They react chemically when mixed with Lime (Calcium Hydroxide) to form a compound with cementitious properties.
When added to putty lime or quicklime mortars, pozzolans will create an initial ‘set’ in the mortar, giving it hardness in the early stages of calcification and will increase the overall strength of the mortar when cured.
Addition Rates
Lime Putty Mortars
For mortars made from Mature Lime putty a maximum addition of 1 bag (25kg) of Agrical M1000 per tonne of lime mortar.
Quicklime Hot Mortars
For hotlime-mortars made with Calbux 90 quicklime, add up to 10% by volume of the dry quicklime volume only. e.g. 1.5 litres of Argical for every 15 litres of Quicklime powder.
