Auro Hard Wax and Natural Furniture Wax
Auro 171 is a natural balsam for wooden floors and furniture made from beeswax and plant waxes. This eco friendly wood floor finish nourishes and protects the wood from mechanical wear. Besides being very hard wearing it gives a beautiful honey-coloured surface which feels wonderful to the touch.
Auro Natural Hard Wax is suitable for all types of interior wood, cork, linoleum and also unglazed clay tiles and natural stone tiles.
Certified Toy Safe and MI free it is a non toxic furniture wax that can be used on nursery furniture, toys and in homes where people have allergies to MI without concern.
High traffic areas, or small damaged areas can be repaired anytime without problems by sanding and a follow-up wax treatment.
Protects surfaces exposed to normal wear for 2-4 years.

Ingredients:
- Linseed oil
- Castor oil
- Carnauba wax
- Beeswax
- Drying agents (cobalt-free)
Drying time: The surface is resistant to minor stress after approx 24 hours. Full hardness is achieved after approx 4 weeks. Treat carefully and avoid contact with moisture until fully cured.
Approx coverage: 0.4 Litre = 40m² , 2.5 Litre = 250m²
Further Information:
Natural products are neither odourless nor emission-free. The use of organic, natural and plant based ingredients means that allergy and asthma sufferers and people who are chemically sensitive are much more able to tolerate Auro products, however they may cause allergic reactions in some. Cleaning tools
- Clean tools immediatley after use with Auro 191 Natural Thinner.
- Tools bearing dried residues should be soaked in Auro 191 Natural Thinner and then washed using Auro 411 Natural Brush Cleaner.

Application
See the 171 Technical Data Sheet for full details, however in brief:
For new wood and wood based materials:
- Make sure the surface is dry and free from dust and grease.
- Prime absorbant surfaces with Auro 117 Special Woods Primer or Auro 123 Natural Wood Oil as necessary.
- Apply a wafer-thin coat with a ball of cloth, a floor polisher, or a hot spray gun.
- Polish within approximately 1-2 hours while the wax is still soft and not yet dry.
For previously painted wooden surfaces:
- Remove the old coating down to the bare substrate using Auro 461 Natural Paint Stripper (or another suitable method)
- Neutralise if necessary.
- Continue as for new wood (see above).
For unglazed clay tiles, natural stone tiles, linoleum and cork:
- Remove any dirt by cleaning with Auro 427 Wood Floor Renovator or with Auro 411 Natural Brush Cleaner.
- Rinse and allow to dry.
- Prime with with Auro 117 Special Woods Primer or Auro 123 Natural Wood Oil as necessary (not required for linoleum).
- Apply a wafer-thin coat with a ball of cloth, a floor polisher, or a hot spray gun.
- Polish within approximately 1-2 hours while the wax is still soft and not yet dry.
Note: As the absorbance of cork and tiles can vary considerably. Please test the products on an area first.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular care maintains beautiful surfaces for a long time. Clean regularly with Auro 431 Natural Beeswax Wood Floor Cleaner.
Heavy soiling can be easily removed with with Auro 427 Wood Floor Rennovator.
Where the wax coating has worn in high traffic areas, renew the Auro 171 Natural Floor Wax coating (see the 171 Technical Data Sheet for full details).
