Beeck Renosil Fine Silicate Paint is a breathable silicate masonry paint for exterior walls. It is suitable for traditional and modern buildings. Beeck paints were established in 1894 and are a tried-and-tested solution on projects worldwide.
Given that this paint is highly breathable, it's a fantastic option on substrates where maintaining breathability is essential, such as overcoating lime renders, limewashes, stone, brick, etc. However, this paint is also excellent on other standard materials, such as cement and standard masonry paint. Being highly versatile as it can be applied to many different substrates, the Beeck Renosil Fine can be used in most projects, even where a mixture of substrates is found.
Key Features
- Perfect for use on vapour open substrates such as lime render.
- Suitable for application onto almost all conventional masonry substrates, Beeck Renosil Fine is the perfect option when there is a mixture of traditional and modern substrates.
- Silicate paints create a chemical bond with the substrate, offering excellent durability.
- Highly breathable - Sd rating - 0.03m
- VOC - Max 10 g/l
- Flammability - Class A2 non-flammable (EN 13501-1, DIN 4102)
- Mould resistant with a PH of approximately 11
- Beeck only uses natural UV-resistant pigments in their paint.
Coverage Rate - The coverage rate for Renosil Fine is approximately 7m2 per litre per coat on smooth substrates. Coverage rates will be lower on rougher substrates; as a guide, the coverage will be approximately 4.5m2 per litre on brick/blockwork, though the coverage on your substrate might vary. Renosil Fine can be brushed, rollered or sprayed onto suitable surfaces.
Application onto vapour open substrates - Vapour open substrates include bare lime render, limewash, brick and stone. Avoid use where weather conditions are likely to rain or be intensely hot, particularly during the application and curing phase which is at least 12 hours after painting.
- Prepare the surface - ensure the wall is dry and sound with no dust or loose materials. Where your lime render/limewash lime deposits, lime bloom or bleed, please consider using Beeck Etching Fluid, which will improve the chemical bond with the substrate during subsequent coatings.
- Priming coat - Use Beeck Fixative, which primes and stabilises the substrate before painting. Thin Beeck Fixative with one part fixative and two parts water. Allow 12 hours to dry. Beeck Fixative covers approximately 20-25m2 per kg on smooth surfaces.
- First coat - If the substrate is in poor condition use a single coat of Renosil Coarse as a base coat which helps mask imperfections and hides hairline cracks. If the wall is in good condition apply a base coat of Renosil Fine instead of Renosil Coarse (unless you wish to have a coarser finish), diluting the first coat of paint with 10-15% water before application. Allow 12 hours to dry in both cases.
- Second coat - Apply the second coat of Renosil Fine with no water dilution. Allow to dry to finish.
Application onto vapour closed substrates - Vapour closed substrates include cement and standard masonry paints. Priming coats are not required for these substrates. Avoid use where weather conditions are likely to rain or be intensely hot, particularly during the application and curing phase which is at least 12 hours after painting.
