Customers have said "We've installed the Ecofan 810 model in our 300 year old stone house sitting room which is a 30' x 12' rectangle. With the only door at the same end of the room as our log burner, heat distribution has always been poor and we needed to keep a radiator from our oil boiler system, running at the other end of the room. But not any more, the Ecofan has transformed our heating and from the first evening it was installed we have turned off the radiator completely! I just wish we'd bought one years ago. Superb product and excellent 24hr service from CelticSustainables - Thank you very much."

Customer review for BelAir Ecofan "Works wonderfully and starts up at very low temperature. We use it on a wood burner which has a back boiler (hot water and central heating) so the top doesn't get as hot as a conventional wood stove. Our stove is also inset into an alcove so really helps to move the warmth out into the room."

Getting the Most From Your Ecofan

For optimum performance, placement on the stove's surface is critical to allow cooler air to be drawn over the cooling fins. Place the Ecofan at the back corner of the stove as shown on the diagram. Should the gap between the Ecofan and the back wall should be less than 150mm (6") then move the Ecofan forward along the side of your stove and turn it in slightly. This should ensure the fan can draw the necessary cool air from the rear/side of the stove. The Ecofan should not be used directly in front of the stove pipe or at the front of the stove as this will lead to reduced performance.

"For full grate stoves, placing the Ecofan on the back corner, and ensuring that usable hot air is not forced behind the fan, is important.

For stoves with only a partial grate near the front, positioning the fan away from the chimney pipe, and,

at the back of the grate helps ensure proper air flow and hotter temperatures."

Maintenance for Calfire Eco Fans

Eco fan not spinning? Has your eco fan stopped working? We supply ecofan spares so you can repair yours quickly and easily.
After much usage, an Ecofan motor can wear out. Ecofan Motor Replacement Kits are available for customers who wish to install a new motor rather than sending the old unit back to Calfire for repair or purchasing a new Ecofan. The replacement kit comprises a new motor; an allen/hex key to remove the blade and full instructions.

Whats Included:

  • New Motor
  • Instructions
  • Allen Key

Following the manufacturers user guide will insure you get the most out of your eco fan. Ensuring you have chosen the correct replacement kit before purchase is heavily determined by the model number and also the temperature range of the stove. For further information about the ecofans and choosing the right kit, it's best to talk to one of our experienced specialists in store or to call. To get a better idea of what temperature the stove runs on, we suggest investing in a stove thermometer, this will insure you don't 'stoke' the fire and run it at a higher temperature than the eco fan can run efficienlty on, causing damage to the motor. For efficiant fuel burning, choose the Calfire wood stove thermometer, which clings snugly to your metal woodstove and shows the stove's temperature clearly. For optimal stove temperature aim between 200-350 celsius. Running higher than 350 celsius wastes fuel, and can damage your woodstove. Running below 200 celsius indicates a smoky fire that can lead to excessive amounts of creaosote in your chimney.
