Restoration Story; a Beautiful Self Catering Mill in the Heart of Pembrokeshire

You'll feel free as a bird bowling down narrow lanes to photographer Jo and sculptor John's magical spot. This won't suit people who want bustle; it's a place for curious souls, dreamers, artists and peace-seekers. We revisit Felin Hescwm mill post renovation with Celtic Sustainables.
A gloriously peaceful old mill with a converted cart shed nestled near the coast line in Pembrokeshire, renovated sensitively using local materials and traditional crafts that quietly echo the natural beauty of the landscape. The refurbishment of the building has been achieved with materials and paints from Celtic Sustainables and the skills of local craftsmen. This simple yet luxurious cottage has been finished to the highest standard using a subtle colour pallet from Earthborn throughout, which compliments the Welsh slate floors and wooden bookshelves that run through the hallways.
They have also chosen Auro professional emulsion in the kitchen and bathrooms in soft colours to enhance the natural light of the building. Auro paints are a perfect choice for this building, they offer good durability and allow the building to breathe, which will regulate the buildings moisture levels and will improve indoor air quality.
Farrow & Ball Eggshell paints have been used on the interior timber walls, which helped to emphasise the relaxed and airy feeling of the open plan living space. The exterior walls have been traditionally lime pointed using Singleton birch lime and they look brilliant next to the stand out red doors that welcome visitors. You have to forgo your car and explore the local area and beautiful beaches by foot. Or if its tranquillity you are looking for, you can sit in the garden and listen to the waterfall and relax as the day passes by.
All paints and lime products used during the renovation have been supplied through Celtic Sustainables. We’ve been able to share our advice on products when it has been needed, and supply the products quickly, each time they have needed more. We look forward to continuing to supply Jo and John with our products whilst they continue to renovate and maintain the upkeep of the property.
