Modern Eggshell – a new hard-wearing finish from Farrow & Ball

Farrow & Ball have just released a tough new paint finish for interior wood and metalwork. The Modern Eggshell is a very hard-wearing mid sheen finish that's available in all 132 colours. It is great on floors, stairs and skirting; and also recommended for use on kitchen cupboards (where a tough paint is needed). It's quick drying (dry in around 2 hours and recoat in 4); washable and wipeable; eco-friendly (low voc); and water-based (safe for children and pets).

Modern Eggshell offers an even more durable (and slightly glossier) alternative to our Estate Eggshell.

FARROW & BALL UNIQUE BLEND:

Farrow & Balls immersive paint colours are blended in such a way that the rich pigments within subtly respond to each change of light and season. The colours themselves do not change, every batch is tested for colour consistency, but the rich ingredients and age-old recipes create absorbing colours with a unique character.

Firstly, chalk, china clay and titanium dioxide are mixed with water to create the base paint. Then the pigments needed to create the signature depth of colour are carefully measured and added in exactly the right amount.
