DAB Divertron 650 MESH submersible pump
The DAB Divertron 650M also known as a Leader Divertron 650 is a high quality multi-stage DAB submersible pump with 3 impellers and electronic flow control (i.e. the pump will automatically pump on demand). The electronic flow control of the DAB Divertron 650 pump responds to the pressure in the outlet delivery pipe. As the user draws water by opening a tap or similar, the pump starts automatically. When you turn the water demand off, the pump cuts out automatically. It is manufactured with anti-corrosive and rust-proof materials. The motor has thermal overload protection and has 1" threaded outlet and a 360o mesh intake near the bottom of the pump. The pump has a diameter of just 160mm.
The Divertron 650 MESH DAB submersible pump has a wear resistant shaft, and the excellent water-cooling of the motor allows the pump to operate when fully submerged. Being cooled by the waterbody that the pump is immersed it is quiet in operation.
This is an upgraded version of the Divertron 1000M. Improvements include improved performance, lower power consumption and an accessible Capacitor. This new version consumes 30% less power than the previous model while still achieving higher performance. This is in line with European Directives for the Minimum Hydraulic Efficiency Index (MEI) for pumping equipment, which will come into force in 2024. Lower power usage helps to reduce energy bills.
Supplied with a 15 metre power cable with plug, 2-pin (Schuko) plug, and internal non return valve.
The Divertron 650M is designed for pumping clean water only. The impeller will be damaged if abrasives and solids are run through it.
The DAB Divertron 650 model has a maximum head of 30 metres or up to 100 litres per minute maximum flow. It comes with an integral mesh strainer to prevent large particles from entering the pump housing, ensuring a longer life. See the technical information for more information on output and the Divertron flow curves. A pressure vessel will help prevent false re-starts due to small pressure leaks.
It is very safe in an outside submerged application, as the pump is totally water proof (to IP68) This makes it especially safe where children are around - for total peace of mind.
Ideal for:
- Rainwater harvesting tanks and systems
- Surface irrigation systems
- Tank to tank transfer applications (see QuickStop Valves to save energy and pump wear)
- Above ground tanks in wash down systems
- Large garden water butt or rain tanks (over 1000 litres)
- Submerged surface and underground installations, wells and boreholes.
NOTE: The Divertron pumps MUST NOT sit on the floor of any water tank (they can be suspended using a suitable lifting cable (not supplied)) and MUST be kept within 15o of vertical. They must be run submerged. If run out of the water the motor cannot cool properly. Where using in a Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) tank or shallow tanks where operation may take place in low water level conditions for extended periods, the SteelPumps are worth considering. The SteelPumps can run out of the water, or submerged (to max of 5 m submergence depth). If in any doubt, contact us by email for advice.
Connecting to hoses and pipes
The pump comes with a multi-hose reducer to connect to a garden hose (a stainless steel hose clip is required).
To connect to a 3/4" garden hose simply screw the mulit-hose reducer into the outlet, connect the hose and secure the hose with a stainless steel hose clip.
To connect to a 1" garden hose follow the instructions in the Quick Guide to reduce the height of the multi-hose reducer, connect the hose and secure with a stainless steel hose clip.
If however you intend to connect hard blue or black 32mm MDPE pipe to the pump, you will need a 1" compression adapter (please ensure you select the correct size on the compression adapter page).
Pressure Vessel
We highly recommend you fit a pressure vessel to the water delivery pipework (after the pump). Pressure Vessels help increase the life of your automatic pump when there are leaks in your pipe network/taps. Read more about how Pressure Vessels work.

DAB Divertron FAQs and Troubleshooting Guide
Please note: All Divertrons are fitted with a 2-pin (Schuko) plug. We strongly recommend that all submersible pumps are installed on a 10A single fused spur and should be installed by a qualified electrician. If you need an automatic pump with a 3-pin plug, please look at the SteelPumps range.
