Riven oak lath for traditional lath and plaster applications. Sold in 1.2m (4ft) Lengths. These laths are split by hand using traditional methods, resulting in a thin strip of wood with a textured fibrous surface offering a sound key for the lime plaster that is surprisingly strong and durable. It is vital that the initial render base coats include hair or fibre to improve tensile strength.
Splitting the timber rather than sawing it, retains the length the individual wood fibres which makes the laths very strong and textured. Ideal for use on ceilings.
