Pro Clima Solitex Plus is a fully windtight and breathable (vapour open) roofing underlay designed for pitched roofs, external membranes for timber frame walls, and windtight membranes for insulating suspended timber floors. Its four robust layers make it ideal for areas with heavy foot traffic during construction. It can withstand UV exposure and weather for up to three months and boasts impressive nail tear resistance.
Application Areas
- Pitched Roofs: Suitable as a roofing underlay for pitched roofs with a slope of over 15°.
- Timber Frame Walls: Functions as a breathable membrane on the exterior of timber frame walls.
- Suspended Timber Floors: Provides wind proofing for the underside of insulated suspended timber floors.
- Blown-In Insulation: Compatible due to its reinforced membrane with high nail tear and pull-out resistance.
Note: For roofs with a pitch flatter than 15°, consult the technical team or consider using Solitex Weldano for pitches less than 10°.
Functionality
Pro Clima Solitex Plus features a 4-ply construction comprising a polypropylene fleecy backing, a strong reinforcing mesh, a central monolithic nonporous TEEE membrane, and a blue polypropylene felt top layer. Its lower resistance to moisture vapour than conventional underlays ensures a dry structure with minimal risk of condensation.
The monolithic windtight membrane is unaffected by timber preservatives, resins, and oils that can compromise inferior microporous membranes by lowering the surface tension of rainwater and allowing seepage. Solitex Plus remains watertight in all conditions due to its lack of microscopic holes.
The membrane can endure UV exposure and high radiant heat for up to three months, making it ideal for protecting unfinished buildings from the elements during construction.
Advantages
Moisture Protection: Active moisture diffusion through the monolithic membrane prevents condensation, avoiding structural damage.
Easy Installation: The fleecy backing reduces friction, and the reinforcement provides high nail tear resistance.
Durability: Can withstand heavy foot traffic during construction and remains effective against UV and weather exposure for up to three months.
Certified Performance: Approved by the Irish Agrément Board and BBA Certified, ensuring reliable performance.
Once adequately taped and sealed with Tescon Vana or Tescon No. 1, and with roofing battens positioned according to BS 5534, Solitex Plus is suitable for any exposure zone in the UK and Ireland.
