Application

Suitable for: Internal use

Recommended timbers: Most species of timber

Applications: Floors, doors, stairs, worktops, skirting, furniture, table tops, wood turning, wood toys, instruments.

Preparation: Please ensure this product is applied to bare wood. Sand surface to be treated with 80-120 grit sandpaper, ensure that all surfaces are free of any dust, dirt and other contaminants.

Use a Brush or Roller to apply a thin coat of Colour Tone to the bare wood surface. Immediately remove any excess product with a lint free cloth. Allow to dry then finish with two coats of Treatex Hardwax Oil Ultra*.

We highly recommend buying a sample pot and carrying out a test application, as the colour of the timber being treated will affect the Tones.

* Treatex Hardwax Oil Natural can be used as a top coat with Spruce Colour Tone to achieve a pure bright white

Insider Tips

  • All of our Colour Tones can be mixed together to create your own unique colour! Remember to note your ratios so you can re-create the colour again.

  • Treatex brushes and rollers are available. Alternatively, use a short gloss pile roller or good quality brush. Wet brushes and rollers can be cleaned using Treatex Thinner or white spirit.

  • To speed up drying, raise room temperature and increase air flow by opening doors, windows and using a fan.

  •  For a brighter white seal our Spruce Colour Tone with two coats of Treatex Hardwax Oil Ultra Natural instead of Treatex Clear Hardwax Oil.
